Some of Jennifer’s fondest memories as a kid were helping her Aunt with her catering business along with the help of the rest of her family, with prepping, cooking, serving, and of course cleaning the dreadful cleaning. Long hours on your feet, hot kitchens, periodic disagreements between families members “that’s too hot, that’s not hot enough, that’s too much water”. Lots of laughter and music filled Jennifer’s weekends, holidays and free time...

Food was always at the center of family gatherings, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and get togethers just to get together. Sunday dinners were like Thanksgiving and Christmas every week. Jennifer's first birthday party had more food than people. Food was the heart of the family and in turn was her Aunty Linda (Lindeal). These days shaped Jennifer into the woman she is today. Hard work, dedication, precision made her a warrior. One one occasion her Aunty Linda made her make a coconut dessert seven times, because the other six times it was not made to perfection. She helped instilled the idea of nothing less than your best. Through the many years of assisting her Aunt in the kitchen, the dream of opening a restaurant with her Aunt was born. In 2019, Jennifer and her Aunt decided it was time to get serious about opening a Caribbean restaurant, and that's how Sauce began.

While in the planning stages, the family suffered the great loss of her Aunt, who suddenly passed away. Jennifer was at a crossroads, whether to continue with her and her Aunt's dream or call it quits. In spite of the grief and sadness, Jennifer decided to move forward with the plan in order to honor her Aunt's dream. With the assistance of her parents and sister, the family banded together to make the dream a reality. Jennifer's mother picked up where her Aunt left off and created the menu and recipes for Sauce. Jennifer's sister brought the vision to life through the design and decor of Sauce and Jennifer's dad was the 'jack of all trades'.
